Rivers United Boss Confident Of Team Becoming Perfect

Rivers United Boss Confident Of Team Becoming Perfect

Stanley Eguma

Rivers United manager Stanley Eguma says that his side has what is required to become a perfect team.

This is coming on the back of Rivers United's 1-0 away win over DC Motema Pembe of Congo in the third group game of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday night.

The win moved the Pride of Rivers to the top of Group B with six points from three matches.

"We came to Luanda with the mindset to win because we needed these points to make it from the group," Eguma told the media.

"Our plans were working well until we got the red card and everything changed again.

"In training sometimes, we practice with one man down in case we have this situation in a match so that we will be able to cope.

“My players showed character and tactical discipline and that saw us through."

He added: "I believe they gave them all even though the game almost sapped them up.

"That strength and dexterity were what helped us.

"We are showing character in the league as well and I think we are growing with the competition, I mean both in the league and on the continent.

"In a matter of time, we will become a perfect team."
