Roma Agree Season-Long Loan Deal With Chelsea For Lukaku

Roma have agreed terms with Chelsea over a season-long loan deal for Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku.

The deal includes an £8 million loan fee, with Roma to cover the Belgian's wages.

Chelsea agreed to let the 30-year-old move to the Italian capital because he is not part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans at Stamford Bridge.

There were interests from Juventus, Inter Milan and Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal but the forward chose to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma.

Lukaku moved back to Chelsea from Inter Milan for £97.5 million in August 2021 on a five-year-deal for his second spell at Stamford Bridge.

He however struggled to establish himself, which led to a loan move to Inter Milan last season, where he had limited playing time under coach Simone Inzaghi.

He has scored 15 goals in 59 games for Chelsea in two spells and is 20th on the Premier League all-time goal scoring list with 121 goals.
