Ronaldo Fires Blanks On Debut, Al Nassr Win Ettifaq

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo finally got his desired debut for Al Nassr but could not find the back of the net against Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

Al Nassr got the win off the back of a goal from Brazilian Anderson Talisca, a former Benfica forward.

The goal took Al Nassr one point ahead of Al Hilal at the top of the table having played a game more than their nearest opposition.

Ronaldo however did score a brace in the All Star match against Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain during last week's exhibition match.

It is a new experience for 37-year-old Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr last month on a reported £175million-a-year contract until 2025.

That came after the former Juventus and Real Madrid forward's existing deal with Manchester United was cancelled in the aftermath of a high-profile interview in which he was critical of the club and officials.
