The Coordinator of Plateau Potatoes Value Chain, Mr Thomas Muopshin, said no fewer than 1,500 potatoes and other root crops farmers will converge on Plateau State for a conference on modern farming.

Muopshin disclosed this in a chat with reporters in Jos Wednesday.

He said the conference would bring international investors into the state.

Muopshin also said the one-day exposition scheduled for tomorrow would bring huge benefits for the state and the farmers.

"The exposition would help to establish a potato centre of excellence in the state to stimulate the exportation of potatoes from Plateau State," Muopshin said.

"The session would enlighten the farmers on the required standard for exportation and the need for them to key into the plan."

He said the seminar would also help to expose farmers to windows that would enable them to take advantage of various opportunities.
