Russia announced on Wednesday that it had successfully thwarted a large-scale overnight drone attack.
This comes just a day after reportedly eliminating more than 70 attackers in the southern border town of Belgorod.
The details of the incident came to light after Moscow declared that its forces had crushed a cross-border raid originating from Ukraine.
According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, the drones were intercepted over the province overnight, resulting in damage to administrative and residential buildings as well as cars.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
In a separate development, the Ukrainian General Staff revealed on Wednesday that heavy fighting was ongoing inside Bakhmut, despite Russia's claim of complete capture of the devastated city.
Bakhmut is located in Donetsk province, which was illegally annexed by Russia last fall.
