Russia-Ukraine War: Angelina Jolie Rushed To Safety During Visit To Lviv

Russia-Ukraine War: Angelina Jolie Rushed To Safety During V

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie was rushed to safety during her visit to Lviv in war-torn Ukraine after an air-raid siren went off.

The Maleficent star flew to the region during the weekend to meet with people who have been displaced since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

While visiting the country on Saturday, an air-raid siren was signaled at the station amid fears of an attack, and the 46-year-old actress was whisked away by her aides who swiftly bundled the star into a waiting car, presumably headed to a bunker.

The incident was filmed and Jolie remained calm through it all, even waving at the camera at some point and saying, "I'm okay."

Angelina Jolie who is a special envoy for the United Nations refugee agency met volunteers working with the displaced, who shared their recent experiences with the actress.

Speaking on Jolie's visit, Lviv’s regional governor Maksym Kozytsky, disclosed that the actress spoke to children undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in the missile strike on the Kramatorsk railway station in April.

"She was very moved by the children's stories. One girl was even able to privately tell Ms. Jolie about a dream she'd had", Kozytsky wrote in a social media post.
