Russian peacekeeping force has arrived in Kazakhstan as protests in the country turn bloody.
As the crisis continues to escalate, Aljazeera disclosed that members of the security peacekeeping forces have arrived in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan on Thursday.
Dozens of people, including citizens and police officers, have been killed in the continued protests. Over a hundred persons have been injured in the crisis with at least 60 in intensive care.
Thousands have reportedly been arrested in Almaty and other parts of the country.
The protests began over the weekend and spread through the country. It was triggered by the rising fuel price but have since graduated from into an anti-government riots.
In response to the fuel price hike, the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has sacked some cabinet members and had declared a nationwide state of emergency.
He invited the peacekeeping troops from Russia in a bid to restore order in the country.
