World number two Aryna Sabalenka has triumphed over world number one Iga Swiatek in the final of the Madrid Open.
The Belarusian won 6-3 3-6 6-3 to clinch her second title in Madrid and avenge her loss against the Pole in the final of the Stuttgart Open two weeks ago.
“I am just super happy with this win, especially against Iga on clay,” said Sabalenka, who broke Swiatek four times in the 2 1/2-hour final.
“It is always tough against each other and you always push me to my limits.
"I hope we will play many more times this season,” she told Swiatek on court.
This victory means that the Australian Open champion has now claimed her tour-leading third title of the season and 13th of her career.
