Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji has called for the sack of Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labor and Employment for his lackadaisical attitude towards education in the country’s universities.
The One Love Family founder who accused Ngige of being a saboteur also added that he should be replaced forthwith.
Maharaj Ji said, Dr. Chris Ngige is not concerned about the university educational system in Nigeria because all his children are studying abroad.
Making this known in a press statement signed by the One Love Family spokesperson, Ojo Mogbadewa, Maharaj Ji stated, "Most parents and students have lost interest in the educational system in Nigeria, as those who can afford education outside the country have started making moves towards it.
“The rich who can afford private varsities send their kids there, where their academic calendar is unaffected. While the poor who cannot afford it tends to spend more years on campus as a result of the strike, this make the rich kids graduate before the poor kids and as a result of this, be ahead in some aspects of life.
“The strike had caused many to be idle, like the popular saying, 'an idle man is the devil’s workshop'. And sometimes those whose parents are in financial distress cannot afford the luxury of staying home for long, rather go for menial jobs and some get into the quick riches means of living like banditry and so on, this is shameful!
"The effect of ASUU's numerous strikes has been devastating to the Nigerian University System, by watering down the quality of education offered to Nigerian students which has at best been mediocre.
“The academic performance of students is adversely affected and the entire educational system is almost crippled. The result is half-baked students and graduates who lack the basic skills necessary to survive the dynamic workplace m Nigeria and the rest of the world.
“With two oil wells, the educational sector in the country can be taken care of without experiencing any strike again. This is feasible. Even Saudi Arabia can now boast of trees and fruits in their lands."
Satguru Maharaj Ji, demanded that both the Minister of Education and Minister of Labor and Employment must as a matter of urgency address and find a lasting solution to the problems relating to the lingering ASUU strike, or be replaced by better hands.
