Saheed Shittu: South West Imam Roasts Controversial Co-Preac

The Chief Imam of Gateway Hotel Central Mosque, Otta, Ogun State, Sheikh Mojyd Owoade has seriously lambasted controversial preacher, Saheed Shittu.

AllNews reports that Shittu was allegedly arrested last Thursday with some news reports even claiming he was consequently charged to court for 'defaming' another Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Olanrewaju (Alfulanny).

Although, a main protege of Shittu, Yahya Gambari, urged the public to disregard the news of his mentor's arrest cum imprisonment.

And AllNews did ascertain that Shittu was not detained at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison as being bandied around.

In fact, as at the time of publishing this report, he is holding a Live online lecture (video) via Save Your Soul TV.

Shittu in one of his online lectures was said to have raised an allegation against Sheikh Alfulanny over money collected for a mosque project.

Shittu, a Sunni Muslim, has repeatedly 'denigrated' some traditional rulers and many Islamic scholars in Nigeria like Sheik Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory, Shaykh Mohammad Robiu Adebayo, and Sheykh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, describing them as "hypocrites and liars".

Imam Owoade speaking in Yoruba language warned that Shittu risks destruction if he continues to attack eminent Islamic scholars.

"Saheed Shittu should mellow. He is not an 'Alfa', Wallahi Al-Azim; my students can tutor him," Imam Owoade said in a Live video on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

He added: "If Saheed Shittu thinks he is impregnable, let him come and meet the Alfas. Let's see if he'd survive - no matter who he thinks he is."
