Salah's Late Goal Rescues Liverpool From Embarrassing Pre-Se

A late Mohamed Salah goal rescued Liverpool from an embarrassing defeat against German side Greuther Fürth.

The pre-season friendly between both sides ended 4-4 in Bavaria on Monday.

Liverpool opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Luis Diaz arrowed a shot beyond goalkeeper Jonas Urbig.

Diaz's goal made the difference in the opening half as the Reds took the narrow lead into the break.

Within two minutes of the restart, Greuther Furth's Julian Green took advantage of a goalkeeping error from Adrian and levelled the score.

But two quickfire goals from Nunez put Liverpool in a comfortable 3-1 lead by the hour mark.

Lukas Petkov then reduced the deficit in the 67th minute before a defensive collapse allowed Armando Sieb to score twice in just three minutes, putting Greuther Furth ahead at 4-3.

With time running out, Mo Salah came to Liverpool's rescue in the 89th minute, popping up at the back post to nudge Nunez' cross over the line to ensure that the match finished 4-4.

Despite Salah spared his team from a potential defeat, Liverpool's performance raised concerns ahead of the new Premier League season as Jürgen Klopp's side continues to struggle defensively.

They have now conceded six goals in two warm-up matches and will have to be wary when they fly to Singapore for the second part of their pre-season tour to take on relegated Leicester City.
