Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has mourned the demise of Alhaji Yakubu Salau, the former chairman of Chanchaga LGA, describing him as a generous, passionate and humble person.

The State Acting Governor, Yakubu Garba stated this in a statement on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim.

He extended his condolences to the deceased's family, the leadership and people of the LGA as well as the Minna Emirate Council.

While acknowledging the deceased as a committed and hardworking person, Garba extolled his good virtues as council chairman.

The statement partly reads: "The acting Governor recalls that late Alh. Salau was one of the most active and efficient Council Chairman in the State.

"He says under the leadership of the late Alh. Salau, Chanchaga local government experienced remarkable transformation.

"The acting Governor prays that Allah will grant the soul of the deceased entrance into Aljannah and grant comfort to his family members, the leadership, and people of Chanchaga local government as well as all those affected by the death of Alh. Yakubu Salau."
