Sallah day tragedy: Gunmen wreak havoc in Sokoto village

In a devastating turn of events, a group of suspected gunmen launched a brutal attack on the unsuspecting residents of Dudun Doki village in the Gwadabawa Local Government area of Sokoto State, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in their wake.

The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday at approximately 1:30 am, resulted in the tragic loss of more than 10 lives, with numerous others being taken captive.

The brazen attack, which has sent shockwaves throughout the region, is a grim reminder of the ongoing security challenges facing the country. The gunmen, whose motives remain unclear, stormed the village with reckless abandon, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.

The attack is coming on a day Muslim faithful in the community are celebrating the Eid-el-Adha just as others around the world.

Sokoto, just like some other states in the North-West geopolitical zone has had to contend with rampaging murderous bandits, who invade communities at will to kill, maim, destroy and steal properties.
