Samsung Releases Walkie Talkie App To Its New Galaxy Watch

Samsung Releases Walkie Talkie App To Its New Galaxy Watch

Samsung announced the release of a new walkie-talkie app for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic on Tuesday which empowers watch owners to have push-to-talk conversations with one another using the wearable.

The app development was rumored in May by SamMobile prior to the watch’s official announcement, but the app release was reported by XDA Developers and it's now available to download via the Google Play Store.

The walkie talkie feature came after Apple added push-to-talk walkie talkie a similar feature that only lets two people communicate at once, to its Apple Watch back in 2018 with Watch OS5 while Samsung’s supports “two or more users” so long as you can find enough people using the Wear OS 3-based Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic, the only two wearables currently listed as compatible with the app on its Play Store listing and by setting up a Walkie-Talkie channel to chat in.

Samsung launched a new processor "Exynos W920" designed two weeks ago for wearables like smartwatches which can house larger batteries or don sleeker designs.

The company has been making a remarkable effort to expand its wearables and offer customers more advanced watches with the launch of "Exynos W920" that integrates an LTE modem and is the first in the industry to be built with an advanced 5-nanometer (nm) extreme ultra-violet (EUV) process node, offering powerful yet efficient performance demanded by next-generation wearable devices.
