Sani Knocks Osinbajo Over Poverty alleviation Plans

Former representative of Kaduna Central at the Nigerian Senate Shehu Sani has knocked the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, over his plans to lift 20 million Nigerians out of poverty with N5,000 monthly stipend. 

Sani who took to his Twitter page to react to Osinbajo's plan wondered how possible it was for 20 Million Nigerians to be lifted off poverty with N5,000 monthly stipend.

According to Shehu, it will be miraculous for the government's plan to become a reality.

"Lifting 20Million Nigerians out of poverty with 5k will be miraculous," Sani wrote.

The Vice-President on Tuesday announced that 20 million Nigerians will be lifted from poverty in the next two years.

Osinbajo said this at the flag-off of the Economic Sustainability Plan, ESP, Cash Transfer scheme.

According to Osinbajo, the success of the RRR had emboldened the government to achieve its aspiration of a social security programme for a minimum of twenty million Nigerians in the next two years.

He further boasted that the scheme will be the largest of its kind on the continent.
