Saying Rhodes-Vivour Has Anti-Lagos Agenda Is Idiocy — Bode George

Saying Rhodes-Vivour Has Anti-Lagos Agenda Is Idiocy — Bod

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has described as idiocy the notion that Labour Party guber candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has an anti-Lagos agenda.

In an interview with Punch, George who condemned the attack on Igbos in Lagos during the governorship election on March 18 stated that believing that GRV has the aforementioned agenda is absolute insanity.

The LP guber candidate was embroiled in a tribal controversy during the days leading to the election, with many claiming that his mother being an Igbo woman disqualifies him from being in the race.

While reminding members of the public that Rhodes-Vivour's father is a Lagosian, George wondered if those who have children from mixed ethnicities should throw them away.

"It is idiocy. It is what I call existential imbecility. It is absolute insanity.

"Yes, his father is a Lagosian, a Yoruba man. His mother is an Igbo woman.

"Is that the first time we are having that in Lagos?

"I have children who are half Yoruba, half Igbo. Am I going to throw them away?

"What name do they bear? Don’t they bear my name? If their mother gives them an Igbo name, what is wrong with it?

"They speak Yoruba and bear my name. Those promoting this bigotry will now say they are not Yoruba. It is so cheap.

"The most annoying thing is that their leader is saying he wants to go to the centre to rule Nigeria.

"He shouldn’t take these people along with him", he stated.
