Schools in Lagos have been approved for reopening by the state Governor, Babjide Sanwo-Olu, starting from October 19, 2020.
This development was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, on Monday.
According to the commissioner, the resumption of the 2020/2021 academic calendar will see students in pre-primary (kindergarten and nursery students) classes resuming.
Adefisayo also said that the decision of the state government to allow pre-primary students to resume classes was reached after consulting with stakeholders and educators.
She said, “The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) will continue to monitor and evaluate schools preparedness. The necessary resumption protocols must be adhered to and cleared “satisfactory” by the OEQA.”
