Scores Of Traders With Police Escorts Attacked, Kidnapped By

A convoy of over 18 motorists led by police escorts have been attacked by suspected bandits on Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Highway.

It was gathered that scores of travellers in the attack were kidnapped by the armed men.

This incident occurred less than 24 hours after bandits attacked the Angwar Gimbiya community, in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted scores of residents in the area on Tuesday night.

According to a Kaduna Resident who spoke with Daily Post, most of the victims of the abduction were traders on their way to Kano.

He added that about 18 vehicles that were led by a police escort were attacked.

“We have about 70 of our traders from Udawa town alone and there are others from neighbouring towns in the convoy that was attacked between Udawa and Buruku along the highway,” he said.

It was gathered that some of the traders who were fortunate to escape into the bush called their relations to inform them of the situation.

Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Jalige Mohammed, promised to comment on the incident after gathering solid details.
