Scores Trapped As building Collapses In Ibadan

Scores of persons have reportedly been trapped after a block of flats collapsed in the Sango Barracks in Ibadan on Saturday evening.

The number of casualties, if any, has not been ascertained.

The collapsed structure is in front of a residential three-storey building in the area.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also confirmed the incident.

An anonymous source within the agency said they got the alert around 8 pm.

The source also confirmed that the Federal Fire Service was mobilised to the scene of the incident.

It was revealed that people were trapped and feared dead but the source could not authoritatively give any figure.

The Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Service, Ismail Adeleke said he had not been informed about the development.

All attempts to get the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command for comments on the incident were futile at the time of filing this report.
