He further revealed that the partial lockdown will be effective from Thursday, December 24, 2020, which is Christmas eve till further notice.

“There shall be partial state-wide lockdown between 12:00 a.m and 4:30 a.m. until further notice,” Rasak, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19 said.

Further revealing that carnivals, clubbing and concerts in the state have been banned until further notice, Rasak said “Concerts/carnivals/Clubbing are not allowed until further notice while worship centres are not to allow congregations exceeding 50% of the maximum capacity of the venue.”

Recall that following the second-wave of the virus, the Lagos State government while placing restrictions on clubs and social gatherings revealed that the state could not afford to go on another round of lockdown.

In a related development, the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed revealed that the directive of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 did not insinuate that there will be another round of lockdown.

He explained that the government's refusal to announce another lockdown is to avoid hardship.
