Second Wave: Lagos Shut Down Landmark Event Center, Others,

In the heat of the second wave of coronavirus, the Director-General of Lagos State safety commission, Lanre Mojola has on Sunday revealed that the stated Government has shutdown Landmark event centre and 11 other social facilities for flouting Federal Government directives on COVID-19.

Making this disclosure in a statement on Sunday, the DG revealed that he and his team had worked tirelessly to ensure that Lagosians comply to the federal government directives on COVID-19.

In the statement, Mojola revealed the identity of the 11 other facilities to include; DNA Night Club, Buzz Bar, Silverfox, Cocoon, Westend Nightclub, Rumors, Lekki Waterside, Landmark Event Centre and the Wave Beach club.

Further warning that any of the sanctioned facilities which go against the state government seals and continue to party will be charged to court once documentation had been processed.

Stating state Lagos state is committed to containing the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus, Mojola warned that the state will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the mandate is achieved.

“During the earlier monitoring and enforcement drive carried out over the weekend starting the 19th of December, 2020 other facilities such as Cubana Ikeja GRA, The Corner Lekki, 355 Restaurant and Night Club, Victoria Island amongst others were sealed,” the statement read in part.

According to him, mass gatherings at restaurants, bars, cafes, and public places without observing necessary safety guidelines will increase the spread of the virus.

Further urging Lagosians to observe all COVID-19 guidelines and directives as they go ahead with their Christmas celebrations, he further pointed out that people must take responsibility.

Also, he called on the public to cooperate with the government in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

It will be recalled that the state government had earlier sealed shutdown CUBANA night club for flouting COVID-19 guidelines.
