Senate Holds Valedictory Session For APC National Chairman

The Senate on Wednesday held a valedictory session for the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu and two others.

The Upper Chamber also held a similar session in honour of two other outgoing senators, Abubakar Kyari (Borno North) and Hassan Mohammed (Zamfara Central).

Senators Adamu and Kyari had resigned their positions as representatives of Nasarawa South and Borno North respectively following their election as APC National Chairman and Deputy Chairman (North) respectively, while Mohammed who represented Zamfara Central resigned to become his state's Deputy Governor.

Until the valedictory sessions, Senator Adamu was Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture Kyari was Chairman Senate Committee on FCT, while Mohammed was Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology.

The session followed a presentation by the Leader of the Senate, Yahaya Abdullahi. 

The lawmakers subsequently took turns to eulogise the former senators, urging them to replicate their achievements in their new offices.
