The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has called for an immediate end to the continued killings in parts of the senatorial district by suspected herdsmen

Moro made the call on Friday in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche'Ofun John after the gruesome attack by the herdsmen.

Apa, Agatu and Otukpo LGAs have been under bloody attacks by the marauding herders leading to wanton destruction of lives and property.

Senator Moro frowned at the development while calling on both the federal and state governments to take immediate steps to nip the barbaric acts in the bud.

He said, "We can no longer guarantee the continued patience of the affected people who have been waiting on the government to come to their aid. The victims have been pushed to the wall and will resort to self-help if help does not come to them immediately."

The senator further condemned the recent attack and murder of five in their entirety, especially the Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu Community, in Agatu LGA. He said the unprovoked attacks which resulted in the gruesome murder of five armless villagers on their farms are unacceptable.

He further called on security agents to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book.

Names of the murdered victims include Eche Edoh, 17, male. Edoh Alhassan Alike, 40, male, and Simeon Emmanuel, 25, male.

The latest development is the second gruesome attack within a week on Ogbaulu community.
