The former INEC chairman will be screened together with Abdullahi Abdu Zuru who was nominated for an appointment as National Commissioner in the electoral commisson.

The Senate will, next week. be looking to confirm the re-appointment of Yakubu as the commission's chairman after receiving the report from the panel.

It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had last week nominated Yakubu for reappoitnment as the chairman of INEC.

Also nominated by President Buhari for the postion of INEC commissioner was the media aide to the president Laurreta Onochie.

It will be recalled that the commission appointed  Ahmed Mu’azu as the acting chairman follwing the expiration of Yakubu's 5-year term.
