Sen. Obinna Ogba
A Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, Obinna Ogba, has emerged as the government candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State.
The Chairman of the party’s electoral committee, Chris Okolo, while declaring the results said that Ogba polled 253 votes to defeat his closest rival, Anayo Nwonu who scored 110 votes.
Ogba, a former State Chairman of the party in the state was elected in a primary election held on Sunday night in Abakaliki.
The election was sequel to the decision of the Appeal Court which settled the leadership crisis of the party in the state and the subsequent cancellation of the previous exercise which didn’t meet the requirements set by the party as it was marred by violence and irregularities.
