Serie A: Abraham Rescues Roma From Defeat Against Juventus

Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham scored his first goal of the season to help Roma snatch a 1-1 draw against Juventus in the Serie A on Saturday.

Juventus drew the first blood when Dusan Vlahovic scored a sensational free-kick after just two minutes.

Manuel Locatelli's goal was ruled out by VAR for a Vlahovic handball.

Juventus went into the break with a 1-0 lead, and they will be disappointed that their dominance did not yield the maximum points.

Abraham restored parity for Roma with a powerful header from Dybala's acrobatic cross.

He has now become the third joint top English goalscorer in Serie history with 18 goals equalling Trevor Francis' record.

The former Chelsea striker admitted that Roma were below par in the first half and they fought for a point against a good Juventus team

"It was a difficult match, we're happy with the draw because we had to fight all game," said Abraham to DAZN.

"Give credit to Juve, they're a good team.

"In the first half, we weren't up to it, but in the second half, we were better... We're happy we haven't lost yet."

The Old Lady have earned five points from three games, and Roma are on seven points from the same amount of matches.

Juventus will return to Serie action on Wednesday against Spezia, while Roma will slug it out with Monza.
