Inter Milan secured a dominant 2-0 victory over Lecce in Serie A on Sunday, extending their hold on a Champions League spot.
The home team took the lead in the 30th minute when Nicolo Barella skillfully deceived Lecce defenders inside the box and delivered a perfect pass to Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian forward capitalized on the opportunity with a spectacular first-time finish that sailed into the top-right corner.
Lautaro Martinez doubled Inter's lead eight minutes into the second half with an exceptional goal. Denzel Dumfries delivered an immaculate cross to Martinez inside the box, who then slammed the ball inside the right post.
With the win, Inter Milan climbed back to second place in the Serie A standings with 50 points from 25 games, placing them two points ahead of Lazio, who sit in third, and three points above fourth-placed AC Milan.
Lecce, on the other hand, struggled to make an impact in the game and only managed one shot on target. They currently sit in 15th place, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
