Serie A: Juventus Escape Defeat By Whiskers Against Fiorentina

Juventus and Fiorentina played out a 1-1 draw in a Serie A encounter on Saturday as the Old Lady stayed within the Top 4 spot provisionally.

They have won two and drawn three of their first five Serie A games this season.

The Turin giants had the opportunity to go top of the log with a win, but they failed to earn the maximum points despite taking an early lead in the ninth minute through Arkadiusk Milik.

The Polish forward was also on target in the midweek win over Spezia.

Fiorentina restored parity through Christian Kouame from a swift counterattack against the run of play in the first half.

Luka Jovic missed the opportunity to increase Florentina's lead in the first half when his penalty was saved by Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

Fiorentina could have snatched the maximum points in the closing moments, but Perin made a superb save to deny Sofyan Amrabat's late effort.

Juventus will be hoping to improve following an underwhelming performance, which they could have lost if not for the goalkeeping brilliance of Perin.

They had only four shots and were second-best for most of the game, which will be worrying for Max Allegri, considering they have a Champions League date with PSG on Tuesday.
