Serie A: Kostic Shoots Juventus Past Inter Milan, Chiesa Lim

Kostic's Goal

Filip Kostic led Juventus to victory in their Serie A clash against Inter Milan, securing the only goal in the match and pushing his team closer to the European places.

The game was underwhelming, but Kostic's strike in the 22nd minute was enough to enrage Inter, who felt it should have been ruled out for an Adrien Rabiot handball.

After several minutes of deliberation, VAR officials confirmed the goal, allowing Juve to move up to seventh place in the league with 41 points, just seven points away from the Champions League position.

Despite Juventus' win, their hopes of securing a higher position in the league remain uncertain due to their 15-point penalty for illicit transfer activity. They are hoping to overturn the penalty, which would put them in second place, a position currently held by Lazio, who won the tense Rome derby 1-0.

Inter Milan, who have been inconsistent throughout the season, suffered their ninth loss of the campaign against Juve, who were missing several injured or unfit players.

Meanwhile, Napoli extended their lead to 19 points with a 4-0 thrashing of Torino, needing just 15 more points to secure the league title, even if Lazio win all of their remaining 11 matches. Without the deduction, Juve would still trail Napoli by 15 points.

The only downside for Juventus was that Federico Chiesa limped off with seven minutes remaining after coming on as a substitute midway through the second half. Despite this setback, Juventus can take comfort in their win and continue to push for a higher position in the league.
