Inter Milan continued their unbeaten run in Serie A with a 3-1 win over Udinese on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lautaro Martinez all scored for the home team, who remain in second place, 15 points behind league leaders Napoli.

Inter missed out on a fourth win in a row on Monday after they were held to a goalless draw against Sampdoria.

Lukaku gave Inter the lead in the 20th minute with a retaken penalty.

Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri saved the first attempt, but Lukaku made no mistake the second time, putting the ball in the low right corner.

It was the Belgian striker's second Serie A goal of the season, coming six months after his last goal in August.

Udinese equalized with their first shot on target, with midfielder Sandi Lovric firing in just under the crossbar.

The game remained a tight contest in the second half, and Inter could have restored their lead with Mkhitaryan in the 65th minute, but Silvestri made a great save.

The Udinese goalkeeper also denied Edin Dzeko seven minutes later.

Mkhitaryan eventually gave Inter the lead in the 73rd minute after Federico Dimarco set him up inside the box.

Substitutes Lukaku and Martinez both had chances to extend the lead in the final minutes of the match.

Martinez tried to lob the goalkeeper but sent the ball over the bar before scoring an individual effort one minute from time to secure the win for Inter.

Speaking after the match, Mkhitaryan said, "Playing against Udinese is always difficult, and we already saw that in the first leg.

"(Tonight) before going ahead, we could have conceded a goal but we were lucky. At 2-1, it was already clear that we would win.

"We are a very strong team, we have shown the whole world that we are not to be messed with."

Inter will next face Porto in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash on Wednesday.

They will travel to Bologna on February 26 for their next league match.

Meanwhile, Udinese's winless run extended to four games, and they remain in ninth place on 30 points.

They will host 17th-placed Spezia in their next fixture.
