Napoli, determined to bounce back from their previous defeat against Lazio, put on a commanding performance to defeat Atalanta 2-0 at home.

Winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for the home team in the 60th minute with a spectacular strike into the roof of the net after a fine assist from Victor Osimhen.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 77th minute when defender Amir Rrahmani scored with a towering header following a corner.

Napoli's win saw them extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table to 18 points over second-placed Inter, who suffered a shock defeat to Spezia the previous day.

Despite being in sixth place with 42 points, Atalanta are still in a relatively comfortable position, sitting seven points above both Juventus and Bologna, who both have a game in hand, and Udinese in ninth.
