Seven Months On, No One Knows What's Happened Concerning Channels TV Wife Assaulter

Seven Months On, No One Knows What's Happened Concerning Cha

Over seven months after the matter became a talking point on social networks, the management of Channels Television has not made publicly known the result of its investigation into the allegation of wife battery against one of its staff, Pius Angbo.

Channels TV has not carried out necessary disciplinary action, AllNews has independently confirmed.

Aside from the battery allegation, Pius was in December 2020 also accused by his wife Ifeanyiwaof being irresponsible in their six-year-old marriage.

"This matter is still being investigated by the management," a reliable source within the organization told AllNews in January.

"No decision has been reached yet," our source who prefers not to be named added.

It would be recalled that Ifeanyi, a medical doctor, had in a two-minute video, said she has never enjoyed her matrimonial home.

She claimed that Angbo, a correspondent of Channels Television in Imo State, South-East Nigeria, often assaulted her over ‘petty’ arguments at home.

She said the December 2020 domestic violence that led her to post on social media was a result of her advice to her husband to cease spending lavishly on ladies and cater for his four children. It happened not long after she delivered a baby through cesarean section.

“Hello people, my name is Ifeanyi Angbo. I’m a doctor and I’ve been married to Pius Angbo of Channels Television for six years. And for six years, I’ve not known peace.

"It’s been from one girl to a different.

"I simply had a child from a cesarean part nearly 4 weeks in the past.

“I advise him to spend wisely and not spend on women so recklessly since we have four children and they have to be trained.

"I’m calling him out. He works with Channels TV. He is from Benue State.

“I thought I got married to a fellow human being. Though I saw a paper where he wrote a prayer request… Even before getting married, I stumbled on the paper where he wrote that “thank God for saving him from hatred and abuse of women.” Obviously, he’s still on,” she had said in the viral video visibly pummeled.

While Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State, reconciled the couple, and Pius apologised to his wife, the management of Channels Television said at the time that the company will look into the allegation.

“Channels Television does not condone violence against women or anyone in general.

"The domestic violence matter reported against one of our reporters is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken,” the media outfit had said late last year.

Ever since, Channels TV has gone mute.
