Sevilla, Barca Confirm Kounde's €50M Transfer Done Deal

Sevilla and Barcelona have confirmed the transfer of French defender Jules Kounde in a five-year deal worth over €50 million to become Xavi Hernandez's sixth signing of the summer.

According to reports, the two clubs have reached an "agreement in principle" over a €50-million transfer that includes an extra 10 million in bonuses.

Barcelona confirmed via their Twitter page on Thursday with a video of the French international arriving at Spotify Camp Nou in the club's mufti.

Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel would be deeply saddened by this news, given that Kounde will be the third signing hijacked by Barcelona this summer and Kounde will have been a better and long-term signing than Koulibaly.

The 23-year-old is recovering from groin surgery following an operation last month but is expected to be available for the start of the new season.

Kounde joined Sevilla in 2019 from Bordeaux. He won the Europa League in his first season in Spain, and has played 11 times for France.
