Shooting Stars have apologised to their fans for last Sunday's 1-1 home draw against Remo Stars in the South West derby.
The home fans expected the Oluyole Warriors to win the derby match but were left disappointed with the outcome of the encounter.
It was Shooting Stars who opened the scoring at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan when Desmond Agbekpornu unleashed an excellent strike from 25 yards out in the first half.
The stunning effort awakened the belief of 3SC supporters that their club could go on to beat their South West rivals for the first time in a league game.
But their aspiration was extinguished by Aniekeme Okon whose excellent snap header levelled the score for the Sky Blue Stars six minutes after he was introduced from the bench.
The home team made efforts to grab a winner in the final 20 minutes but the winning goal eluded them as both teams shared the spoils.
Apologising for the outcome of the match, Shooting Stars management appealed to fans of the club not to give up on them, pledging that they are going to make up for the home draw.
“We want to apologise to you over the draw game against Remo Stars last Sunday, knowing full well that you expected something better.
“Rest assured that based on the outcome of the meeting we held with the technical crew, we are going to make it up for you with good results in our subsequent matches,” the statement reads.
