Jannik Sinner has now reached the quarter-finals at the Miami Open for the third consecutive year.
He ramped up his title bid further on Tuesday by defeating sixth seed Andrey Rublev 6-2 6-4 in 72 minutes.
The 2021 Miami Open finalist recorded 28 winners to just eight unforced errors and also won 86% of his first serve points without facing a breakpoint.
“I think today I served better, maybe the best match in Miami so far," said Sinner, who reached his only previous ATP Masters 1000 final in Florida in 2021.
"I am happy about that. I will try to keep it going.
"I just tried to play with the right tactics. Playing bombs after bombs, it’s never easy.
"I think I changed my game a little bit, so I am very happy about that."
The 21-year-old will next play 26th seed Botic van de Zandschulp or Emil Ruusuvuori in the last eight.
