Istanbul's traffic accident
Six people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in Turkey on Monday.
The accident occurred on the TEM Highway in the Silivri district of Istanbul, the Istanbul Governorship reported.
According to preliminary information, a large dump truck travelling at a high speed crashed into the median barrier and crossed into the opposite lanes.
The truck smashed into two cars as it crossed into oncoming traffic, finally colliding with the nearby embankment.
Firefighters and medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Turkey has witnessed countless traffic accidents. Last month, the Afyonkarahisar province of Turkey saw an accident that killed eight people and injured 35 others.
The accident also comes amid the back of the one that killed four people and injured 24 in Turkey’s Kayseri in late January.
