Skit Maker De General Denies Being A Drug Trafficker [Video]

Joshua Sunday, also known as De General, has refuted allegations that he is a narcotics trafficker.

De General was convicted of narcotics trafficking by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday, January 24.

After being caught for unlawfully dealing in 15 grams of cannabis and 14 grams of Tramadol in the Lekki region of Lagos state, he and Caleb William, a cinematographer, were charged in court by the NDLEA.

Both of them were accused of three counts of trafficking Tramadol and Cannabis Sativa in court.

The duo who pleaded guilty to the crime testified in court that they had never used narcotics. They claimed the narcotics were props for a comedic act they were preparing to film when they were caught.

Justice Daniel Osiagor recognized that the amount of material in the case was limited, and said that he would rather convict and caution the offenders than punish them.

The accused were warned and told to "go and sin no more."

Following his release, De General denied being a drug trafficker in a video posted to his social media account. He says that if he had been a drug trafficker, he would not have been released.

''As you all can see, I am alive. I am healthy, back to the house. I just want to debunk the fact...there is this news speculating that De General is a drug trafficker.

"I am not a drug trafficker. If I was a drug trafficker, you think they would allow me go like that. I only traffic laughter.''
