SMEs: Over 400 Youths In Enugu To Get Skills In Automobile I

Enugu State SMEs center has partnered with AutoEase Ltd. to engage over 400 youths in Auto-revamp Innovation Training Programme (AITP) to learn life-long skills in the automobile industry for self-reliance and economic emancipation.

Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and also Director-General, Enugu SMEs centre made the disclosure in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu.

Chilo-Offia said that the skills include, how to repair damaged vehicles and build new cars from older models.

The DG said that the first batch of the beneficiaries, who participated in the eight months of innovation training had graduated and received their certificates.

He said that the second and third batches of the beneficiaries were still undergoing training while the application for participation in the fourth batch was ongoing via: www.enugusmeautojobs.com .

The aide said that the graduation ceremony of the first batch was a huge success as the event featured a practical demonstration of the three stages of auto-ramping by the graduands.

He explained that each team was given damaged car bonnets and asked to revamp them in under 45 minutes and the best team received a cash prize from the company.

He said that learning auto-repair, newly certified auto-experts and building new cars from old models was a profitable investment in life.

”It will set you up to work in big automobile companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Toyota, Honda and more,” the special adviser said.

Chilo-Offia reiterated that SMEs centre remained steadfast in ensuring that the governor’s vision was actualised in its fullness.
