Contraband Worth N110 Million Intercepted In Katsina

The Zone B Customs Strike Force Team has arrested 3 smugglers in Katsina State after intercepting several contrabands worth N110 million naira.

Alhaji Useni Aliyu Olurukooba, the team head disclosed this at the Katsina Command on Tuesday.

“We have seized 450 bags of 50kg foreign parboiled rice, 300 cartons of foreign spaghetti, 790 cartons of foreign soap, 52 cartons of drugs and one motorcycle. With all total of the value of the items seized in the Katsina axis within October to December approximating N110,890,000.”

’’The interception proves that no matter how much investment the smugglers have made on the contraband items, it will eventually turn a waste for them,’’ he said.

He ended by pleading with the media to help sensitise the general public on the harmful effect of smuggling activities on the country's economy.
