So-Safe Corps Apprehends Suspected Armed Robbers In Ogun

The operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has foiled a robbery attack by seven gangs of armed robbers.

The arrest by the So-Safe operatives was effected in Friday, September 23, 2022, in Olokopupo Community, Atan Ota, Ado Odo Ota local government area.

In a statement issued by Moruf Yusuf, Director of Information and Public Relations, So-Safe on behalf of the State Commander, Soji Ganzallo, it was revealed that the syndicates ransacked three houses in the said community but unfortunately few of the So-Safe Officers Atan Divisional Headquarter on routine patrol in the axis sighted the suspected armed robbers while cutting the security wire.

The statement revealed that the officers waited patiently till they went  through the back perimeter fence and then confronted them.

"The team later reinforced to the area of incident, upon sighting the officers in their full actions, the suspected armed robbers took to their heels and three out of the seven syndicates were apprehended on Friday, September, 23, 2022, at about 5:2600hrs while the rest four were at large.

"The apprehended suspects are Ikechukwu Oligbo, 35 years of age, Fidelix Nwakwo, 32 years old and Chinedu Eze, 37 years old. 

"One Nuru Ahmed 24years, a resident of Alaba Rago,Lagos State was traced for allegedly dealing in buying stolen phones from the Syndicates as confessed by the suspects and was eventually arrested while a number of stolen items were found in his possession as he confessed to the crime.

"During preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed without torture that one of their members called Ugor and at large is in possession of the cut to size locally made pistol."

Exhibits found with the arrested members of the syndicate include, four iPhone, Toyota Rav 4 with registration number KSF 92 GT, 2021 model, metalic blue colour, three iPhone (apple, white and red), two Tecno phones, two black belts, one black vez cap, one chain wrist watch, two brown leather wallets.

Others are; four thousand eight hundred and forty naira cash (N4, 840:00).

All exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Atan Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
