So-Safe Corps Arrests Hotel Thief

The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State has arrested a 24 year old suspect for theft of hotel properties.

The suspect it was learnt was a lodger in the said hotel.

Soji Ganzallo, the So-Safe Commander revealed that the suspect, Muhammad Abubakar, was arrested on Friday, January 6, 2023.

"At about 1:00hrs on Friday 6th January, 2023, Mr Muhammad Abubakar, a 24-year-old and resident of Oloko Area in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area was arrested for stealing electronic devices and other valuable items in the hotel room where he lodged at Keke Hotel, Iyana Iyesi, Ota in Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area.

"Immediately the Corps got the information that one of the customers in the hotel is behaving otherwise, the Corps Special Team in the newly created Ilogbo Area Command of the Corps under ACC Idris Odukunle swung into action and the Mupin Division of the Corps saddled with the assignment to get the culprit arrested and the Deputy of the Command CSC Yusuf Samuel was asked to work with the team. 

"The officers headed to the Keke Hotel at Iyana Iyesi in Ota and at the hotel the team gathered that the suspect came together with a lady, identity not known at about 11 pm on 5th January, 2023 to book a room.

"The lady after some hours reportedly moved towards the main entrance of the hotel, but was stopped by the hotel attendant and was asked to turn back, return to the room she lodged with her man friend but to their surprise, Abubakar has loosened electronic device which includes CCTV Cable, Ceiling Fan and other valuable items in the room."

Ganzallo also said that he instructed that the culprit be arrested to face the wrath of the law, and on arrival of the team to the hotel he scattered and damaged two of the hotel rooms.

"The suspect resisted arrest and resulted to bitten off a finger of one of the Officer of the Corps.

"The suspect and the exhibit recovered from him had been transfered to the Nigeria Police, Onipanu Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution."
