Sokoto: Bandits Strike Again, Kill 120-Year-Old

Bandits have struck again as they attacked Raka village of Tangaza Local Government Area in Sokoto State, killing 120-year-old woman and five others.

Report said many houses were burnt down as they carted away food items and an undisclosed number of domestic animals.

Speaking on the matter, the district head of the area, Sa’idu Wakili confirmed the incidence.

He said though no one was kidnapped, the bandits burnt down two-thirds of the houses and food items and also rustled cattle as reported by daily post.

The district head urged the federal and state governments to intensify more efforts toward solving the security challenges in the area.

The police is yet to disclose the level of damage done to the villagers.
