The Somalian Electoral Committee has appointed a new chairman after dismissing the former chief accused of electoral misconduct.
The announcement by Somalia's Federal Election Implementation Team (FEIT) came, after the threat of the United States sanctions to be placed if the country misses the new deadline of February 25th election.
The deputy chairman of FEIT, Mowlid Matan Salad, declared that;
"The defeated candidate got 11 votes while the second candidate, Muse Gelle Yusuf won with 14 votes. Therefore he is the new chairman of Somalia's Federal Election Implementation Team (FEIT)."
The new chairman, Muse Gelle Yusuf affirmed his commitment as he said;
"As regards the long-delayed election and new election deadline, we are committed to start quickly and meet this new deadline."
