56 Goats and 10 Sheep were Recovered By the Police In an Operation in South Africa.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, January 21, 2023, fifty-six goats and ten sheep were found during the intelligence-driven operation that was carried out in the Waterburg District Zone 4 starting at midnight.

Members of Mokopane Crime Intelligence and Tinmyne Crime Prevention Unit responded to the location after receiving information about livestock being kept at a home in Ga-Madiba hamlet, which is part of the Mahwelereng police precinct.

They located a 36-year-old man who claimed the livestock belonged to his brother when they arrived.

When the police arrived, his sibling was nowhere to be found.

The house's resident was not detained, and the animals were subsequently seized and taken to the Mokopane SPCA for safekeeping.

The police encouraged anyone who has lost livestock to come forward for identification at the Mokopane SPCA.

Police are still conducting investigations to determine where the recovered livestock came from.
