South Africa: Child Thrown From Burning Building

South Africa: Child Thrown From Burning Building

A South African toddler was thrown from a burning building after looters set it on fire.

The video of the infant being thrown to safety from the top of a burning building has gone viral and the incident reportedly happened after looters set fire to the shops below and the building caught fire.

Unfortunately, the fire spread to the roof of the building while people were trapped inside. A woman was forced to throw the child from the top of the building into the arms of a group of people who had gathered to catch the child.

At least 45 people have been killed in clashes sparked by former South African President Jacob Zuma's imprisonment.

Soldiers have been deployed onto the streets to try to put an end to the unrest, which has spread from Zuma's home province of KwaZulu-Natal to the country's largest city Johannesburg and surrounding Gauteng province, as well as to the Indian Ocean port city of Durban.
