South African Father Shot Dead, Wife Kidnapped During House Robbery

A 42-year-old South African father was shot dead in his home in the early hours of Friday morning while his wife was also kidnapped during the house robbery. 

The incident happened around 3.30 a.m. on Stockville Road in Gillitts, South Africa. 

According to the event report, the deceased was working on paperwork in his dining room when he was shot.

The son allegedly heard his father shouting and then several gunshots.

The deceased's son is said to have hidden in one of the bedrooms' wardrobes.

He then allegedly heard the domestic helper yell at him that the suspects who shot his father had also kidnapped his mother.

The mother returned home with the police an hour later.

The wife is said to have been kidnapped by three suspects and thrown on the side of the road. 

She sought assistance from a neighbour, who drove her to the local police station.

It appears that nothing was taken from the house during the robbery.

The father sustained three gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the scene.
