South African Police Arrest 80 Illegal Immigrants In Tshwane

South African Police Have Arrested 80 Illegal Immigrants In The City Of Tshwane And Other Several Parts Of The Country.

The police in the City of Tshwane has arrested 80 illegal immigrants and 130 other suspects in connection with various crimes in the inner city.

According to the police, the majority of the suspects and illegal immigrants were apprehended in Sunnyside and the Tshwane inner city.

This was part of the province O kae Molao's police visibility activities.

The operations began on Saturday, February 18, and continued until the early morning hours of Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said the operation is part of a crackdown on criminality in the Tshwane Central sub-district.

In addition, 76 people were detained in Brooklyn and Silverton for various crimes such as fraud, domestic abuse, and malicious property damage.

Villieria police detained two people for illegally possessing a firearm.

Mavimbela revealed that Sinoville detained many suspects for vehicle theft and possession of car-breaking tools.

Malmesbury police also discovered and arrested a 62-year-old suspect after discovering a weapons cache with rifles, 9mm handguns, a variety of ammo, and other heavy weapon artillery.
