South African Shoots Ex-Girlfriend Dead, Commits Suicide

The South African Man Is Said To have Shoot His Ex-girlfriend Dead and Proceeded To Commit Suicide.

A 39-year-old South African man is alleged to have killed his ex-girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself.

The incident took place in Hoplen Place in Lenham on Wednesday at about 6 am.

Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a spokesperson for the provincial police said: "It is alleged that the man went to the residence of his ex-girlfriend as she was about to board a vehicle to go to work and asked to talk to her.

“A quarrel is reported to have started and the man allegedly took out a firearm and shot the woman. She was declared dead at the scene.”

Additional reports, according to Netshiunda, suggest that the suspect fled the scene and headed to his Goslen Place residence, which is only a few meters away from the crime scene.

“He was found lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound and a firearm was found lying next to his body.”

The police revealed that initial inquiries showed that the firearm did not belong to him, and an inquiry was being conducted to determine who owned it.

“The motive of the killing is subject to police investigations.”

The South African Police Service had since launched an investigation into the incident and the motive behind the tragic event.
