South Korean Labour Union Stages Protests Using 'Squid Game'

Citizens of South Korea trooped out en masse on Wednesday to stage a labour union protest clad in Squid Game regalia.

Squid Game has become an international phenomenon and South Korean union workers in their thousands protested unfair labour rights while dressed in outfits inspired by the hit Netflix series.

Media reports reveal that the workers stated that they felt like the characters who participated in the games portrayed in the show, hence their choice of clothing.

The protests took place in more than a dozen cities in the Asian region, with an estimated 80,000 members of the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions participating.

According to the reports, those dressed in the Squid Game attires disclosed that they have to deal with debts and injustice in society while struggling to survive in difficult situations similar to those depicted in the series.
