Southampton's Ward, Adams Destroy Everton's Unbeaten Run

Ward Prowse and Che Adams strike helped Southampton destroys Everton's unbeaten run as Carlo Ancelotti's men experienced first loss in the EPL season after their winning streak was halted by Liverpool.

AllNews understands that Everton was unbeaten in the first 5 matches of the EPL which is the longest unbeaten run for Everton from the start of a season.

This is the first match the Toffees could not score a goal as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was kept quiet throughout the game.

James Ward Prowse opened up the scoring for the Saints, in the 27 minutes picking up the rebound from the initial Danny Ings shot past Jordan Pickford to make it 1-0.

The Saints did not leave room for the Toffees to bounce back as Che Adams doubled the lead still in the first half, a poor clearance by Sirgudsson, into the path of Adams.

He slammed it home with his right foot past Pickford to make it 2-0.

Everton could not get back into the game with Lucas Digne shown the red card to reduce Carlo Ancelotti's men to 10.

The rest of the game were hits and misses as either side could not extend the lead or close the gap.

Everton remains on the 13th point with Liverpool while Southampton climbs to 5th position with 10 points.

Carlo Ancelotti's men travel to Newcastle while Southampton travels to Villa in the next EPL Fixture.
